Half Soaked’s collection inspires us with their riveting hand drawn designs that have proven to be delicate, unique and timeless at the same time. “The phrase ‘wearable art’ sounds a bit cliche, but that’s how I see the items. I’m hugely inspired by art, architecture and nature, and use these as jumping off points for my designs. I’m really into organic fluid shapes at the moment so they keep appearing in the patterns I’m working on.” Half Soaked’s debut collection of “Self Love” Shirts are adorned with a nude body repeat print which is inspired by the female form and pleasure — que heart eyes emoji!

Female owned and operated, Half Soaked is a marvelous one-woman show and absolute work of art that is dedicated to creating pieces that look good and feel even better—in fact, each piece is ethically manufactured in London. “The makers follow a zero-waste policy and a stringent recycling process. Producing in limited quantities allows me to keep production in the UK whilst ensuring the highest standards of quality and minimizing overstocks. During the development process, toiles and samples are all made from dead stock fabrics sourced from a local warehouse. I try to buy and create locally where possible to keep my environmental impact low.” Says Founder, Caitlin.

There’s no doubt that our wardrobe is like a work of art—each piece carefully selected as we would a color or stroke on a canvas. The conceptualization of each outfit, to us, has proven to be to be one of the most vulnerable and yet invigorating forms of self-expression out there. Fashion is an art form that has always proven to be representative of the designer and of the time frame in which it’s created. That said, our love of art and its connection to fashion has led us to Half Soaked, a London-based brand creating effortlessly cool pieces that are focused on hand drawn designs and garments produced in small batches. We can dig it.

Since going to art school, Caitlin tells HOKU that Half Soaked allowed her to directly translate her artwork and inspiration into wearable garments. Being based in London, she mentions that the model casting, outsourced development work and future projects reflect the city in its diversity and will continue to do so as Half Soaked Continues to blossom and grow.

Through a combination of meaningful art and damn good design, we’re confident that wearing Half Soaked will cause compliments, and a lot of them…but don’t say we didn’t warn you. With an alluring emphasis on quality design, sustainability and comfort, Half Soaked is a masterpiece we can’t get enough of.
